Privacy Policy – Alista Assistant

This Privacy Policy applies solely to the Alista Assistant app and not to external websites, services, or applications linked within the app.

🧭 TL;DR

  • We don’t collect or sell your personal data.

  • All personal data stays on your device, except AI queries you voluntarily send to OpenAI for processing.

  • Ads are provided by Google AdMob — they handle their own data under their privacy policy.

  • AI replies come from OpenAI — requests are not used to train models.

  • You control all permissions in your device settings.

  • No accounts. No tracking. No hidden data collection.

  • We may store anonymized technical logs for debugging purposes (never linked to any user).

  • We do not build user profiles, track users across apps or websites, or sell personal data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate and improve the app.

Local Data (stored only on your device)

The following information stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app:

  • Preferences and settings

  • Notes and app content

  • Local usage data used to improve on-device functionality

We do not access, transmit, or store this information on our servers.

Optional Permissions

Contacts
Used only for on-device actions such as viewing or calling contacts.
Contact information is never transmitted outside your device.

Notifications
Used to show reminders, system information, and assistant updates.
Notification content is not collected or sent anywhere.

Digital Assistant Access
Allows Alista to handle voice or text commands.
Input is used only to perform the requested action.

Advertising Data (Google AdMob)

Alista Assistant uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.
AdMob may collect limited data such as:

  • Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID)

  • Interaction data

  • Approximate location or IP address

This data is processed solely by Google under the Google Privacy Policy.
We do not access or store this information.

AI Queries (OpenAI API)

When you use the AI assistant:

  • Your text or transcribed speech and relevant conversation context are sent securely to the OpenAI API.

  • We do not send personal identifiers such as your name, email, or device ID.

  • Information included in your message (e.g., preferences you mention) may be part of the AI request.

OpenAI processes these queries temporarily and does not use them for model training.

Debugging Logs (Anonymized)

To maintain app stability, we may collect anonymized technical logs, such as:

  • Error codes

  • Performance metrics

  • Non-identifying request metadata

These logs:

  • never contain personal identifiers

  • cannot be linked to a specific user

  • are used solely for debugging and performance monitoring

2. How We Use the Information

We use collected information only to:

  • Provide and improve app functionality and core assistant features

  • Display and measure advertisements

  • Maintain app stability and performance

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or behavioral tracking.

3. Data Storage and Retention

  • Local data remains on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

  • AI queries and advertising data are processed by OpenAI and Google AdMob under their respective privacy policies.

  • We do not store your personal data or app content on our servers.

  • Our backend may receive anonymized technical logs only.

If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your data.
Information may be shared only with:

  • Google (AdMob) – to display and measure ads

  • OpenAI – to generate AI responses based on your input

  • Authorities – if required by law or necessary to protect legal rights

We do not share personally identifiable information with any third party.

GDPR and EU Users

Alista does not collect or store personal data on its own servers.
Where data is processed by third-party providers (such as Google AdMob and OpenAI), the lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest and/or user consent, depending on configuration and user settings.

For GDPR purposes, Alista acts as the app publisher and point of contact, while Google and OpenAI act as independent data controllers for any data they process.

Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent dialog via Google’s User Messaging Platform, where they can grant or refuse personalized advertising. Consent can be changed at any time inside the app.

5. Security

All external requests (including AI queries and ads) use secure encrypted communication (HTTPS).
We work only with trusted third-party providers.
However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

6. Your Choices

You can:

  • Grant or revoke app permissions (Contacts, Notifications, Digital Assistant) in your device settings

  • Disable personalized ads through your Google account settings

  • Uninstall the app at any time to remove all locally stored data

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data in accordance with GDPR. Since we do not store personal data on our servers, these rights generally apply to Google AdMob and OpenAI. Users may exercise their rights directly with these providers using the links above.

7. Children’s Privacy

Alista Assistant is intended for adult users (18+) and is not designed for children or minors.
We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. AI Services

When you use the assistant:

  • Your input and context are sent securely to the OpenAI API

  • Requests are processed temporarily to generate a response

  • We do not store these messages

  • OpenAI does not use them to train models

  • AI responses may contain inaccuracies and should be used for informational purposes only

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.
Any changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
